On 28 November 2017 at 11.50 a. m. the first freight train bound for Italy-China departed from the rail terminal hub in Mortara -Pavia-.
This is the first direct rail link between the two countries; before it, the only alternatives involved departing from Germany or Belgium.
One of the 20 “Made in Italy” containers in the inaugural convoy is entirely dedicated to Tecnomagnete.
The 40′ box, capacity a 20,000, is loaded with several permanent-electro systems, demonstrates the preference of Chinese customers for Italian technology.
In mid-December, after a 10,800 km 18-day journey, the train will arrive in Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan.
